Eduardo Salas , the Allyn R. and Gladys M. Cline Professor and chair of Rice’s Department of Psychological Sciences, was a finalist for the 2022 George R. Terry Book Award for his manuscript, “Teams That Work: The Seven Drivers of Team Effectiveness.”
Alyssa Cahoy, a senior Health Sciences student in the Department of Kinesiology, won the Morehouse College Project Imhotep Public Health Leadership Award during her summer internship at the Atlanta program.
At the Association of Rice Alumni’s 2022 Laureates Awards ceremony May 7, the group bestowed its highest honor — the Gold Medal Award — to Rice Architecture’s John Casbarian ’69 ’72 and Janice Doty ’60. Rice President David Leebron and wife Y. Ping Sun were also awarded the ARA’s Gold Medal for their 18 years of service to the university.
Nine faculty received the 2022 George R. Brown Award for Superior Teaching, which honors top Rice instructors by votes from alumni who graduated within the past two, three and five years.
Lisa Birenbaum, assistant dean for finance and administration in the School of Social Sciences, was named winner of the Elizabeth Gillis Award for Exemplary Service at President David Leebron’s spring town hall meeting April 21.
