'Elevating the dining experience’: Rice welcomes Local Foods to Brochstein Pavilion
Rice University inked a deal with the restaurant group LFG to bring Local Foods to campus as a vendor at Brochstein Pavilion. The new dining option will open this fall to offer coffee, pastries, fresh pastas, stone cooked pizzas, beer, wine and more.

‘You all belong here’: Rice faculty offer words of inspiration to Class of 2028
On the second morning of O-Week, Rice University’s Class of 2028 assembled in Tudor Fieldhouse to hear advice from a three-person panel of professors who shared their secrets for success — both at Rice and beyond. The faculty delivered short, TED Talk-style lectures encouraging new students to stay open to the possibilities the university offers.

Rice Emerging Scholars Program wraps 13th summer of operation
The Rice Emerging Scholars Program, an innovative, residential academic program designed to help first-year students prepare for the challenging pace, depth and rigor of the STEM curricula at Rice, recently concluded its summer programming with 50 students participating in the prematriculation program.

The Moody Global Fellows program funded 20 Rice students and student leaders for a two-week study abroad program in San Jose, Costa Rica, in partnership with the University of Costa Rica and the Latin American University of Science and Technology. The trip was coordinated by Rice’s Center for Civic Leadership.

Rice has earned an A in Forbes’ most recent College Financial Grades list, achieving a 3.97 GPA. In evaluating 876 private colleges and universities, the influential business magazine identified the nation’s “strongest and weakest schools” in terms of financial health and performance.
