Q: How long have you worked at Rice?

A: Two years.

Q: What is your favorite part about working for the university?

A: Providing the best customer service to professors, colleagues, graduate and undergraduate students. Additionally, the amount of learning you receive.

Q: What do you want people to know about living in Houston?

A: Houston is a diverse city that is represented by a diverse group of people. Each section of Houston is unique and fun to explore. Houston has many active events throughout the week, making it challenging to decide what to do due to the numerous options.

Q: What do you do in your downtime?

A: I love running and playing different sports during my downtime. If I am not doing that, then I am usually spending it with my dog.

Q: What’s your favorite spot on campus to show someone?

A: I like showing people the trees on campus because of the green view and the amount of shade they provide. Who doesn’t love a nice walk?

Q: What advice would you give to new employees?

A: Always ask questions, speak up and never be afraid to make a mistake. That is how you learn and progress to be a great employee and an asset to Rice.

Q: How would you describe your experience as a Rice employee?

A: Encouraging. My career has presented me with challenges, opportunities for growth and learning experiences.

A: Research, opportunities, amazing and generous.

Q: Where do you see Rice in 25 years?

A: Leading in research fields, attracting the best researchers and having new research buildings.

Q: What’s the most exciting time of year for you as it relates to Rice?

A: When the fall semester starts. You get to see undergraduate and graduate students starting their first day of university classes and getting familiar with Rice.
