Rice’s Office of Sustainability held its second annual Earth Month Kickoff Festival April 1 at the Grand Hall in Rice Memorial Center. The event showcased various campus student organizations and departments as well as community nonprofits and businesses that work to advance sustainability within the Houston area.
Rice recently hosted inThread’s second annual fashion show, celebrating the group’s mission of practicing sustainable design and showcasing emerging local talent. The organization is Rice’s student fashion and sewing club.

Houston’s Nice Winery, co-owned by Rice University alumnus Ryan Levy ’97, has claimed the prestigious Top All-Around Winery Award at the 2025 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Uncorked! International Wine Competition, one of the largest and most competitive wine competitions in the country. The award makes the winery a back-to-back winner in 2024 and 2025, solidifying Nice Winery’s place as a premier winemaker on a national stage.

In light of the recent measles outbreak, Rice has partnered with Albertsons/Randalls to offer a measles, mumps and rubella vaccination clinic for all members of the Rice community. This clinic will be held March 20 from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. in Room 112, Cambridge Office Building.
