Leebron to step down from Rice presidency in June 2022
HOUSTON – (May 26, 2021) – Rice University President David Leebron has announced he plans to leave his position at the end of the next academic year after nearly two decades at the helm of one of the nation’s premier institutions of higher learning.
Demolition of Rice’s historic Abercrombie Engineering Laboratory began on May 17 with the first ceremonial bites taken out of the building’s north face by Rice President David Leebron, Provost Reginald DesRoches and engineering professor Michael Wong.
