Public invited to comment on RUPD as part of  national accreditation process

A public portal for community comments about the Rice University Police Department will be open between Jan. 29 and March 31 as part of an annual inspection conducted by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) in an effort for RUPD to maintain national accreditation.

Student Success Initiatives, the Rice University Police Department and the Rice Parking Office invite the campus community to pay off unpaid campus parking fines with donations of food and hygiene product donations. All donations will go to The Pantry.

As he battles terminal brain and spine cancer, 10-year-old Devarjaye “DJ” Daniel is on a quest to be sworn into as many law enforcement agencies as possible. On Feb. 17, Daniel added the Rice University Police Department to his lengthy resume when Chief Clemente Rodriguez swore him in as an honorary officer in a ceremony at the Rice Faculty Club.
