The newest parliament of Owl graduates celebrated a major step in their educational journey during Rice’s December 2024 commencement ceremony, held in Tudor Fieldhouse today. More than 500 degrees were conferred this semester.

In less than an hour, Dean Seiichi Matsuda and the graduate and postdoctoral studies staff doled out 102 cakes from two local bakeries amounting to an estimated two to three million calories.
