During the visit, she caught up with the university’s leadership team, including Rice President Reginald DesRoches, Rice Provost Amy Dittmar and Vice President of Public Affairs Melinda Spaulding Chevalier, before she met with Rice faculty to discuss climate change, geothermal energy and the university’s research in these areas.

Rice University’s Jewish students recently gathered at the Chabad Jewish Student Center for a reception, replete with handcrafted sushi and fellowship. Hosted by Rabbi Shmuli and Nechama Slonim, the group welcomed more than 100 students for food and friendship as a kickoff for the academic year.
