NASA astronaut and Rice alumnus Shannon Walker ’87 returned to campus Oct. 12 to present more than a dozen Rice-related mementos that flew with her during her latest six-month mission to the International Space Station.

Rice Architecture alumnus Cohen Hudson '21 won a Texas Society of Architects/AIA 2021 Studio Award for his master's thesis project USPS+, a proposal for a new post office in San Antonio that leverages mass timber technologies "to expand the United States Postal Service's functions and define a system for the construction of a new type of post office."
Cuthbertson, Tudor to be honored with ARA's Gold Medal at Laureates Awards ceremony

Rice alumni Robert Tudor III and the late Gilbert “Doc C” Cuthbertson will be recognized for their extraordinary service to the university with the Association of Rice’s Alumni’s (ARA) highest award — the Gold Medal — at the 2020-2021 Laureates Awards Virtual Celebration June 3.
The association is also honoring eight others for distinguished accomplishments and meritorious service and recognizing two young alumni awardees.
