Rice alumni gathered at the Post Oak Hotel May 4 to honor outstanding fellow Owls for their extraordinary achievements and contributions to the university community. The Association of Rice Alumni’s 2023 Laureates Awards celebration bestowed its highest honor, the Gold Medal Award, to Kathleen Shive Matthews and Scott W. Wise ’71.
