Rice’s Graduate Muslim Student Association held a dinner June 28 at Farnsworth Pavilion in a belated celebration of Eid al-Adha, the second of two main Islamic holidays that marks the culmination of the pilgrimage rites at Minā, Saudi Arabia, near Mecca, honoring Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son.

Rice’s Office of STEM Engagement and Rice Athletics have been holding weeklong day camps for third, fourth and fifth grade students. Dubbed STEM-Letics and now in its seventh year, with Space Week in its second year, the day camps are designed to keep students both mentally and physically active during the summer break.

Rice announces updates to application processes

Rice University announced today two significant updates to its admission policies. The first introduces an Early Decision II plan, while the second modifies the test score policy for admissions applications. Both changes will be implemented for the fall 2024-25 admission cycle.

‘Problem solvers’: Omar Syed and Rice legal team honored by top industry organization

The National Association of College and University Attorneys will honor Rice University Vice President and General Counsel Omar Syed with the Distinguished Service Award at its annual conference later this month. Syed, who will also serve as the event’s opening speaker, shares the prestigious recognition with the entire Office of General Counsel team for their outstanding performance.
