Q: How long have you worked at Rice?

A: Almost 3 years. I started in October 2022.

Q: What is your favorite part about working for the university?

A: I enjoy being involved in the construction of our research laboratories and being involved in the academic community.

Q: What do you want people to know about living in Houston?

A: We have a great, diverse, international community and amazing cuisine options.

Q: What do you do in your downtime?

A: I love to travel and explore new places. I like to plan our next adventure in my downtime.

Q: What’s your favorite spot on campus to show someone?

A: I like to show people the Ralph S. O’Connor Building for Engineering and Science.

Q: What’s the most exciting time of year for you as it relates to Rice?

A: I enjoy graduation time. You can feel the excitement on campus of the seniors as they get ready to start their next journey.

Q: What’s the one thing that makes Rice special to you?

A: Our Rice community.

Q: What do you enjoy most about your job?

A: I love meeting the incoming faculty and getting to know them as we design and build their labs.

Q: What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?

A: I really enjoy cooking and making meals from scratch when I have time.

Q: What’s your favorite lunch spot or snack?

A: I’m enjoying the new Local Foods at Brochstein Pavilion.

Q: Where do you see Rice in 25 years?

A: I see Rice growing not only the undergraduate and graduate student bodies and departments, but I see it also strengthening industry ties and building a great innovation district.

A: Collaborative, innovative, prestigious, unique.
