Rice’s Housing and Dining staff were celebrated at an appreciation event hosted by the Hispanic Association for Cultural Enrichment at Rice (HACER), recognizing their hard work and dedication that help make the campus feel like home.
Rice experienced a historic snowfall Jan. 21, transforming its iconic campus into a winter wonderland. The snowfall blanketed the university’s signature live oaks, the arches of Lovett Hall and the expansive Academic Quadrangle, creating picturesque scenes rarely witnessed in the South.
Longtime Houston restaurateur Benjy Levit debuted Local Foods Market at Rice, situated in the newly renovated Brochstein Pavilion, during a soft opening Nov. 19. Its hours of operation will be weekdays from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. and weekends 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Rice is introducing a kosher serving station in Seibel Servery, enhancing its already diverse array of dining choices. Rice University inked a deal with the restaurant group LFG to bring Local Foods to campus as a vendor at Brochstein Pavilion. The new dining option will open this fall to offer coffee, pastries, fresh pastas, stone cooked pizzas, beer, wine and more.
