The space selfie – a Spelfie, as it’s called – drew hundreds to Rice Stadium.

The space selfie – a Spelfie, as it’s called – drew hundreds to Rice Stadium on the first day of the university’s celebration of President John F. Kennedy’s famous moon speech 60 years ago. Those willing to pose had their own reasons: Some were at the stadium six decades ago, others were reuniting with friends from the Rice space research community, and many were there just for the fun of taking part in something unique.

Rice video producer Brandon Martin captured the vibe and shows what the satellite, an Airbus Pléiades, saw from on high.
