Rice University has named Vincent Muzelle as its new director of strategic partnerships at the Rice Global Paris Center, who brings a transatlantic perspective shaped by years of experience in both French and American higher education systems. Muzelle will step into a role previously held by Estelle Dubernard and will be based in Paris, where he will help expand Rice’s global partnerships and academic collaborations. He is set to begin May 25. The appointment comes at an accelerated time of international growth for Rice, particularly in Europe, where the Paris Center serves as a hub for research, teaching and institutional partnerships.
“Vincent brings a rare depth of experience across both the French and U.S. higher education ecosystems along with a strong track record of building meaningful, long-term partnerships,” said Caroline Levander, Rice’s vice president for global strategy. “His work at the intersection of innovation and global learning aligns seamlessly with Rice’s ambitions for the Paris Center and beyond. We are thrilled to welcome him to the team.”
Muzelle previously served as associate director of learning experience at HEC Paris, where he designed and delivered executive education programs for global audiences. Earlier in his career, Muzelle led HEC Paris initiatives in North America, building relationships with U.S. universities, corporate partners and global stakeholders. Those experiences position him to help deepen Rice’s international footprint and strengthen partnerships across continents.
"The Paris Center offers a powerful platform to strengthen transatlantic collaboration in higher education,” Muzelle said. “I’m honored to join Rice at a time when dialogue across institutions, disciplines and cultures is more essential than ever. My goal is to cultivate partnerships that not only expand academic opportunities, but also create lasting channels for innovation, exchange and collective impact between Europe, the United States and beyond.”
The Paris Center has become an anchor for Rice’s European engagement, supporting academic programs, research collaborations and partnerships with institutions across France and beyond. Leadership in strategic partnerships is central to that mission, helping to identify opportunities and build relationships that extend Rice’s global reach.
