Moody Fest

Rice University is continuing a tradition that marks an eagerly anticipated moment of the year — the last day of classes. Owls will celebrate the spring term’s closing with a free, high-energy outdoor festival featuring the talents of Rice’s student performing groups.

Moody Fest, themed Glow this year, is scheduled for 6:30-9:30 p.m. April 24 at Founder’s Court. It is a rain-or-shine outdoor event offering free festival food, a glow-party vibe and giveaways including a student-designed T-shirt. As a special treat, the evening will feature student performance groups followed by a live DJ.

“We hope this event brings students together, fosters creativity and celebrates both the amazing opportunities provided by the Moody Foundation’s gift and the hard work of our students throughout the year,” said Andy Osborn, program manager of educational initiatives in the Office of Strategic and Educational Initiatives.

For student groups interested in performing at Moody Fest, the deadline to submit an application is March 22. To enter a T-shirt design, students can submit the artwork by March 22.

Moody Fest: Glow celebrates students’ dedication throughout the year and the transformational impacts of the Moody Foundation’s $100 million gift to Rice. These impacts include the many opportunities provided by the Moody Experience and the coming Moody Center Complex for Student Life.
