Kinder Houston Area Survey to be released April 27 at annual luncheon

Findings from the 2026 Kinder Houston Area Survey, the nation’s longest-running metropolitan study of its kind, will be released April 27 by Rice University’s Kinder Institute for Urban Research at its annual luncheon at the Hilton Americas-Houston.

Now in its 45th year, the survey utilizes the largest survey panel in its history, now one of the largest dedicated to a single urban area. Almost 9,000 members of the Greater Houston Community Panel responded to this year’s survey with residents from the city, including Harris, Fort Bend and Montgomery counties, weighing in. This three-county region represents 1 in 5 Texans.

In addition to presenting the annual survey’s findings, the Kinder Institute will also honor Charles C. Foster, chairman of Foster LLP, with the Stephen L. Klineberg Award, which is given to individuals in recognition of their civic leadership and contributions to the Houston area.
