Hot temps, cold treats at annual Ice Cream Social

Rice University staff enjoyed a sweet afternoon of appreciation at the June 4 Ice Cream Social, hosted by Staff Council and served by university leadership.

The annual event brought together employees from every corner of campus for ice cream, conversation and community-building. Staff members had the opportunity to step away from their daily responsibilities, connect with colleagues from different departments and enjoy the communal space of North Servery with games provided by Housing and Dining staff.

Members of the leadership team served ice cream and toppings, creating a welcoming atmosphere and offering employees a chance to interact in an informal setting. Laughter, conversation and shared treats filled the space as staff gathered to celebrate the contributions that staff make everyday, all year-round.

Organized by Staff Council, a volunteer-led organization made up of staff representatives from across the university, the Ice Cream Social is one of several events designed to foster engagement, build connections and recognize the important role staff members play in the campus community.
