The Susanne M. Glasscock School of Continuing Studies at Rice University has released its spring 2026 Center for Community Learning and Engagement course lineup, and registration is now open. Designed for curious minds of all ages and backgrounds, these short, noncredit courses offer both day and evening options, making it easy to fit learning into busy schedules.

This spring’s lineup spans history, science, the arts and timely global issues. Courses include Semiquincentennial: The United States at 250, Responsible Artificial Intelligence, Lunar Exploration: From Apollo to Artemis, Social Psychology, Undertold Texas History: From the Panhandle to the Gulf Coast and Gems, Dirt and Oil: A Geologic Journey Through Civilization. Additional offerings touch on topics like the stock market and investment fundamentals, the Indian caste system and even food writing.

Hands-on and creative courses round out the schedule with options such as gardening with native plants, travel photography, maximalist painting, simple printmaking techniques and Midweek Medley, a rotating series exploring topics from the history of laughter to the butterflies of Houston.

In addition to multiweek courses, the center will host one-day public workshops and free events, including the Lifelong Civic Leadership Forum with Rice’s Center for Civic Leadership, a Generative AI Primer Workshop and a Creative iPhone Photography Saturday Workshop.
