The Center for Community Learning and Engagement at Rice University’s Susanne M. Glasscock School of Continuing Studies is welcoming the fall season with a new lineup of noncredit courses and workshops spanning the arts, humanities, sciences and social sciences.
Designed for lifelong learners, the fall 2026 offerings explore timely topics ranging from U.S. politics and artificial intelligence to Broadway, photography, creative writing, birding, ethics and personal wellness. Workshops and courses include The 2026 Midterm Elections, A History of Ethics, The United States and Its Allies, Introduction to Artificial Intelligence, Prompting Artificial Intelligence, Travel Writing, Journey of Japan: From Culture to Cuisine and Birding Texas.
The center is also offering hands-on arts programming, including painting, mixed-media art, photography and yoga, along with the popular Midweek Medley lecture series, available in both daytime and evening sessions.
“Autumn provides a natural leaning toward introspection and intention, so this semester we wanted to build a lineup that reflects what’s top of mind for our community,” said Korin Brody, director of the Center for Community Learning and Engagement.
“We’ve put together a mix of one-day intensive workshops and in-depth multiweek course offerings covering everything from the midterm elections, Monet, memoir writing and photography to tech and wellness. You don’t need any particular credentials or a huge time commitment to take our courses — just an open mind and a desire to try something new this fall.”
