Rice University employees took a major step toward more efficient project management during the university’s first-ever Asana Day, an immersive training event hosted by the Operational Excellence team from the Division of Operations, Finance and Support.

The three-session series highlighted the through line between the university’s investment in the Asana project management platform and Asana user benefits while providing practical guidance on how to use the software to organize projects, improve collaboration and simplify complex workflows.

Throughout the day, participants explored real-world examples of how colleagues across Rice are already using Asana to transform scattered tasks into structured, transparent processes. The sessions highlighted best practices for managing projects, tracking progress, coordinating teams and creating workflows that save time and reduce duplication of effort.

Beyond learning the platform’s features, attendees gained a deeper understanding of Rice’s broader vision for creating a more unified approach to project management. The workshops emphasized that Asana is more than a task-tracking tool; it is a shared workspace that helps teams communicate more effectively, improve accountability and keep projects moving forward.

The event also gave participants the opportunity to engage directly with members of the Asana team, ask questions, exchange ideas with colleagues and discover new ways to incorporate the platform into their daily work. Exclusive Asana giveaways added to the excitement while reinforcing the collaborative spirit of the day.
