Rice University will officially open the Rice Nexus, its flagship innovation factory located in the heart of Houston’s vibrant Ion District. Spanning 10,000 square feet across two floors of the Ion building, the Nexus is a state-of-the-art facility designed to support collaboration between Rice faculty, students, industry leaders and investors to accelerate the commercialization of new technologies and the growth of Rice-affiliated startups.

When: Friday, Feb. 14 at 9:30-11 a.m. (private VIP event starts at 9 a.m.)
Who: Reginald DesRoches, president of Rice University; Paul Cherukuri, Rice’s chief innovation officer; Bobby Tudor, chairman of Greentown Labs; Tim Crain, chief technology officer of Intuitive Machines; and Sanjoy Paul, executive director of the Nexus.

All Rice faculty, staff, students and alumni are invited to learn more about how the Nexus will strengthen Rice and Houston’s position as a global leader in technology, business and innovation. The Nexus provides access to cutting-edge prototyping tools, comprehensive entrepreneurial support and venture funding opportunities to fuel the development of new ventures in a range of industries including health care, energy, sustainability and deep technology.
