Rice University recognized World Mental Health Day Oct. 10 with a series of activities around campus. The Wellbeing and Counseling Center partnered with The Walk Houston to bring lime green — the official color to recognize mental health — to campus to honor the day.
The Student Wellbeing Office set up a table in front of Rice Coffeehouse to celebrate World Mental Health Day, offering green ribbons to students to reflect on how they will remember to take care of their mental health and stickers to support theirs and other students’ mental health.
The center also partnered with Housing and Dining, whose employees passed out food-themed affirmation stickers to students during lunchtime.
The Wellbeing and Counseling Center also organized a mental health walk, inviting students, faculty and staff to participate on a beautiful October afternoon. The event brought a touch of green to campus to raise awareness for mental health, offering a moment of reflection and connection within the community.
