Rice University’s table tennis club team has secured a spot at the National Collegiate Table Tennis Association (NCTTA) National Championships. Following a decisive victory over reigning national champions Texas Wesleyan University, the Owls claimed first place in the South Region and earned their second consecutive trip to nationals — this time as regional champions.
The team, composed of Daniela Yano, Linxi Xiong, Yiyi Tang and Medha Pulluru, will compete in the national tournament in Rockford, Illinois, April 4-7.
“All of our team members were super diligent and dedicated, whether it be at practice or in game,” said Pulluru, vice president of the club. “This win is a big deal for us and a testament to all of our hard work. We’re excited to represent Rice at nationals. RFND!”
