The Rice Biotech Launch Pad and RBL LLC will celebrate the official launch and lab opening of RBL LLC May 5 with a program featuring biotech pioneers Robert Langer and Robert Ruffolo.
Ruffolo, chief innovation officer of Versicolor Technologies, a member of the Rice Biotech Launch Pad’s external advisory board and former executive at several major pharmaceutical companies, will deliver a keynote presentation at 1:45 p.m. in the TMC3 Collaborative Building in Texas Medical Center’s Helix Park.
The lecture will be followed by a fireside chat with Langer, a renowned scientist, engineer, entrepreneur and professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology known for foundational work in drug delivery and tissue engineering. The fireside chat will be moderated by Matthew Herper, a senior writer covering medicine and editorial director of events at STAT.
