Annual event showcases AI and high-performance computing advances in energy

Rice’s Ken Kennedy Institute to host Energy HPC Conference Feb. 25-27

The Ken Kennedy Institute’s Energy HPC Conference has become Houston’s forum for taking the pulse of industry needs and discussing developments at the interface of energy, high-performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence (AI). The conference, now in its 18th year, is attended by over 500 industry leaders and experts, providing an opportunity for stakeholders to learn and engage through annual technology updates influencing the energy future.

The program will explore emerging AI and HPC applications and assessments across industry, national labs and academic settings. Invited speakers include Selda Gunsel (chief technology officer and executive vice president of technology, Shell); Biondo Biondi (professor, Stanford University); Dan Stanzione (executive director, Texas Advanced Computing Center); Prasanna Balaprakash (director of AI programs, Oak Ridge National Laboratory); Tim Williams (deputy director of Computational Science Division, Argonne National Laboratory); Dan Reed (professor emeritus, University of Utah); and Jesse Chan(professor, Rice University).
