Several important changes have been announced for Rice’s 111th commencement May 3-4, including ceremony schedule updates and a revamped comprehensive digital program.
This year, Jones Graduate School of Business MBA Commencement ceremony has been moved to Tudor Fieldhouse and will be held at 2 p.m. May 3.
May 4 commencement exercises will begin at 9 a.m. with the doctoral ceremony followed by the advanced degrees ceremonies, which includes Bachelor of Architecture, Jones School MAcc and MA degrees at 2 p.m. The undergraduate ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. in Rice Stadium, including the commencement address given by astronaut and alumna Peggy Whitson ’86.
The full commencement program will be available online at commencement.rice.edu. Graduates and guests will have easy, quick access by scanning a QR code provided in an abridged printed program. Each ceremony’s printed program covers its unique run-of-show and select ceremony-specific content. The comprehensive online program will include lists of graduates, full historical details of the university and commencement ceremonies and universitywide awards and honor societies.
