Texas state Rep. Ann Johnson honors Rice faculty, researchers and alumni with proclamations

Texas state Rep. Ann Johnson, whose legislative district includes Rice University, visited campus Feb. 29 to present resolutions from the 88th Texas Legislative session to Rice faculty, researchers and alumni.

During a reception hosted by Rice’s Office of Public Affairs, Johnson met with honorees to commend them on their accomplishments and present them with the congratulatory documents. Recipients were honored for research achievements, Grammy Awards and more.

“It was an honor to meet Rep. Johnson,” said Danielle King, an assistant professor of psychological sciences at Rice who was celebrated for her NSF CAREER Award supporting her research on improving workplace experiences and fostering resilience. “It means so much to be recognized by the Texas Legislature for my scholarly work.”

House resolutions are presented at the discretion of legislative members to recognize significant accomplishments. The following resolutions were awarded to Rice faculty, researchers and alumni.
