Q: How long have you worked at Rice?
A: 10 months.
Q: What is your favorite part about working for the university?
A: I love working with the staff at the Woodson Research Center and the beautiful landscaping I walk through every day to work.
Q: What do you want people to know about living in Houston?
A: I have lived in Houston for 18 years, and I have watched the city mature into a beautiful place filled with parks, fantastic museums and great entertainment.
Q: What do you do in your downtime?
A: I like to listen to audiobooks and go hiking.
Q: What’s your favorite spot on campus to show someone?
A: My favorite spot on campus is outside of Brochstein Pavilion under the trees.
Q: What’s the most exciting time of year for you as it relates to Rice?
A: I am new to campus, so I have not experienced everything yet, but I really enjoyed Homecoming weekend.
Q: What’s the one thing that makes Rice special to you?
A: Rice is not only a beautiful place to learn but also filled with very interesting students, staff and faculty. I learn something new every week at Rice and love meeting people.
Q: If you could be Sammy The Owl for a day, what would you do?
A: I would go to one of the sporting events and get a front-row seat.
Q: How would you describe your experience as a Rice employee?
A: Rice has been such an enjoyable place to work. I feel supported by my department and colleagues. I can’t wait to start another school year and meet new students.
Q: Where do you see Rice in 25 years?
A: I see Rice continuing to be a standard of excellence in education, business and technology.
Q: Describe Rice University in four words or less.
A: Community, intelligence and curiosity.

A: If you have never come to the Woodson Research Center at Fondren Library, you should stop by and learn how we can help you with your experience at Rice. We are a great resource for research but also have fun programs such as using our printing press.
