Rice University’s Rice360 Institute for Global Health Technologies (Rice360) will host the inaugural Innovation for Day One conference, dedicated to newborn and maternal health care innovation for resource-limited settings, in Houston Sept. 25-27.
The most critical interval for safeguarding the health of mothers and babies is at the time of birth and during the first 48 hours post-delivery, when the risk of mortality is highest. The first Innovation for Day One meeting will be focused on ways to enact immediate impact to drive health equity for mothers and babies around the world.
Innovation for Day One will bring together experts in the maternal and newborn health global community to explore groundbreaking solutions to ongoing challenges in health care technology development, and translation and implementation in areas with poor access to adequate health care. Held every other year, the conference will feature a lineup of speakers who are internationally recognized leaders in the newborn and maternal health care space and will include poster sessions and an innovator marketplace.
