The event celebrated Houston’s vibrant culture, rich history and its pivotal role in shaping the future of Texas, aiming to provide state lawmakers with an immersive experience of the city’s defining spaces and leading industries.

The Texas Medical Center (TMC) Helix Park program assembled a group of key leaders and innovators from TMC partner institutions for a panel that spoke to legislators about their work, why they chose to do it in Houston and why they’re excited about Houston’s future as a key hub for the biomedical innovation economy.

Robinson and the other panelists helped showcase Houston as a leader in medical research and health care innovation. The panel underscored the global significance of the TMC and its contribution to better health worldwide. Robinson specifically discussed how his team’s research is pioneering wireless, minimally invasive neuromodulation therapeutics for mental health and bringing these promising therapies to market through Motif Neurotech, a neurotechnology startup Robinson founded, formed through the Rice Biotech Launch Pad.
