Rice University will host its annual appreciation event to celebrate staff accomplishments at 9 a.m. April 18 at Tudor Fieldhouse. The gathering will include remarks by President Reginald DesRoches, acknowledgment of service anniversaries from five to 50 years in five-year increments and special recognition of notable employees.
Rice leadership will also present the Elizabeth Gillis Award for Exemplary Service, which is presented to a staff member who exhibits unflagging commitment to the university.
One new addition this year: Staff Council created the Rice Staff Excellence Award and will recognize its inaugural recipients. These awards celebrate the achievements of three Rice staff members who exemplify Rice’s core values of responsibility, integrity, community and excellence.
Staff may attend in person or via livestream. A light breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m.
