Rice University’s Staff Council recently invited Owls for sweet treats at the West Servery with a popular summertime dessert: ice cream. The leadership team and volunteers served more than 500 scoops of ice cream while attendees played trivia games and took pictures with Sammy the Owl.
Guests also voted on their favorite flavors. The ballots show that Rice staff’s favorite ice cream flavor is butter pecan.
The event was a much-needed break from Houston's triple-digit weather. Based on average highs so far, Houston is on pace for its sixth-warmest summer on record.
