Rice President’s Distinguished Fellow Ruth Simmons will deliver the 2023 Jefferson Lecture in the Humanities, the National Endowment for the Humanities announced July 26.
The NEH Jefferson Lecture is the highest honor the federal government bestows for distinguished intellectual achievement in the humanities.
Simmons will deliver her lecture, "Facing History to Find a Better Future," Sept. 26 at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture.
