An area outside Reckling Park was officially named “Helfman Landing” during a dedication April 6. It is named in honor of Alan Helfman and the Helfman family for their support of Rice University.
Helfman, the president of five Helfman Auto dealerships in Houston, is a longtime donor to Rice Athletics. His son Blake is an alumnus of Rice’s Jones Graduate School of Business.
Helfman Landing, commemorated by a bronze plaque, is a space where fans can gather and socialize before Owl baseball games.
