The Rice Owls baseball team overcame an early 5-0 deficit to defeat the University of Louisiana at Lafayette 12-8 in Sunday’s series finale at Reckling Park.
The win wrapped up the squad’s first series of the season. The Owls lost to the Ragin’ Cajuns in a 5-4 heartbreaker in their season-opener on Friday, followed by an 11-2 setback on Saturday before they closed the weekend with a victory.
Rice will finish up a four-game homestand by hosting Sam Houston State University on Wednesday night, then will head on the road to face Stanford University over the weekend.
