Hats off to another outstanding group of Rice University graduates!
The university’s Advanced Degrees Commencement Ceremony was held May 6 in Tudor Fieldhouse.
Recipients of master’s degrees, including graduates who received a Master of Accounting, Artist Diploma in Music, Diploma in Liberal Studies or Bachelor of Architecture were honored at the ceremony. Master of Business Administration (MBA) graduates were celebrated at an event the evening prior.
In total, 851 degrees, spanning more than 35 different areas of study, were conferred at the event.
“These numbers represent the hard work of students from around the globe,” said Rice President Reginald DesRoches as he addressed the enthusiastic graduates and guests cheering them on. “Forty-nine different countries and 42 different states plus Puerto Rico are represented in this graduating class.
“All the numbers I have cited illustrate the tremendous accomplishments of Rice’s graduates and their potential to have a positive impact on our world,” he added.
