Kesem at Rice threw an outdoor competition-themed social to enjoy the fall weather and inspire team-bonding among its many volunteers. The festivities, held on a knoll outside Brochstein Pavilion, included games like cup stacking, face the cookie, spoon-and-egg races and tug of war.
Kesem, the Hebrew word for “magic,” is a national nonprofit supporting children facing a parent’s cancer. The Rice chapter was founded in 2014 and supports children in the Greater Houston area by providing a free week-long summer camp experience and year-round peer support. Kesem at Rice is operated by more than 100 Owls and serves more than 100 children ages 6-18 per year.
