Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration Kelly Fox sent the following email to the Rice community Nov. 1:
Dear colleagues,
Construction activities for Rice’s reimagined Academic Quadrangle will begin Nov. 6. From this time and through April, the Academic Quad’s main spaces and some access points will be closed to pedestrian traffic.
Campus community impact:
- Access to buildings around the quad will be mostly unchanged
- There will be some temporary, minor changes to access and exits at times
- Construction vehicles will enter the site from the south, between Rayzor and Sewall halls
Signage detailing the design, which is inspired by the Rice community, will be placed around the project perimeter. A map of the areas impacted by this work is included with this message.
As we work to enhance our campus infrastructure and green spaces and create inclusive spaces, our deep gratitude is extended to everyone who has shared their input. More information will be coming soon.
All my best to you,
Kelly Fox, Executive Vice President, Finance and Administration
