Ana María Martínez, professor of voice, and Kathi Dantley Warren, vice president for development and alumni relations (DAR), have been named to Houston Woman Magazine’s annual list of Houston’s 50 Most Influential Women of 2020-21.

Honorees are nominated by readers and chosen by magazine staff based on their “enviable reputation for expertise in their particular fields.”

Grammy Award-winning soprano Martínez joined Rice’s Shephard School of Music in 2021 after serving as artist-in-residence for the 2019-20 academic year. As an alumna of the Houston Grand Opera Studio, she currently serves as its first-ever artistic advisor and was the inaugural recipient of its Lynn Wyatt Great Artist Award.

Dantley Warren came to Rice in 2017 as associate vice president for development responsible for the day-to-day operations of individual fundraising programs and overseeing various DAR departments, including gift planning, major gifts, school-based fundraising and annual giving. In 2019 she was promoted to lead the entire department.

Houston Woman Magazine has published an annual edition featuring Houston’s 50 Most Influential Women of the Year since 2008.
