The 2022 Fulbright-Hays Delegation to Argentina spent July 27-29 at Rice for a pre-departure orientation on all things Argentinian. The 16 educators from across America will spend July in the South American nation, visiting five cities across the country to learn about Argentinian culture and gain insights from fellow teachers to bring back valuable lessons to their pupils in the United States, in partnership with the United States Department of Education.

The orientation event was hosted by Adria Baker, associate vice provost for international education and executive director of Rice’s Office of International Students and Scholars, and Seichii Matsuda, dean of graduate and postdoctoral studies. In addition to discussions with Rice faculty and staff, the educators heard from the Hon. María Cristina Tosonotti, Houston’s Consul General of Argentina, and Norma Gonzalez, executive director of the Fulbright Argentina program.
