The Hispanic Association for Cultural Enrichment at Rice (HACER) hosted a new student reception at Herring Hall Aug. 13. Attendees enjoyed a performance from Mariachi Luna Llena and met leaders from campus. They also enjoyed delicious snacks and beverages from Taquerias Arandas and Tajín. Fitting given that the Spanish word hacer means “to do” in English, HACER provides an inclusive space for learning about and celebrating the intricacies of Hispanic culture, connecting with others and helping move the Hispanic community forward.
