Kimberly Jones, a doctoral candidate in Rice’s Department of History, has been selected as one of eight WW Dissertation Fellows in Women’s Studies for 2022 by the Institute for Citizens and Scholars and will receive $5,000 to go toward expenses incurred while completing her work. Her dissertation, “Critical Bodies: Slavery and Disability in Early Republic Virginia, 1800-1850,” examines the intersections between disability, gender, communities and law.
