Rice materials scientist Pulickel Ajayan is co-lead author of a forward-thinking perspective of quantum materials manufacturing in Advanced Materials. The review co-authored with Nicholas Glavin of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and Swastik Kar of Northeastern University outlines challenges and suggests strategies for tackling high-throughput manufacturing of materials critical to achieving quantum goals. Ajayan is the Benjamin M. and Mary Greenwood Anderson Professor of Engineering and chair of the Department of Materials Science and NanoEngineering.
Will Rice College senior Eduardo Gonzalez Villarreal was named the Texas Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine’s 2022 Undergraduate Major of the Year for Rice University at the chapter’s annual meeting Feb. 25 in Waco. Villarreal also presented his research at the conference with Rice Department of Kinesiology faculty Laura Kabiri and Augusto Rodriguez.
