Rice webinar showcases big data’s rise in sports and gambling

HOUSTON – (April 23, 2021) – The 9th Eubank Conference on Real World Markets at Rice University is taking a close look at how computational tools and big data are impacting sports and changing fan experiences through gambling.

The April 26 webinar on sports analytics and gaming risk management is free and open to the public.

The virtual event will feature keynote speaker Ed Feng, founder of The Power Rank, 10 industry experts and a panel discussion on sports betting now and then. Lectures will underscore the rising popularity of international sports, the growth of the global sports betting market and the importance of data-driven betting strategies, as well as industry concerns and the economic impact of a legalized sports betting markets.

The conference is co-sponsored by the Center for Computational Finance and Economic Systems (CoFES), the Department of Statistics and the Department of Sport Management at Rice University.
