The Rice volleyball team has been rewarded for a 16-5 season with an at-large spot in the NCAA Tournament, the entirety of which is being played in Omaha, Nebraska.
The Owls, the runners-up at last week's Conference USA Tournament after going 12-0 in league play during the regular season, will face North Carolina A&T State University (11-1) in the opening round at 9:30 p.m. April 14 on ESPN3. The winner will face Pennsylvania State University (9-5), the tournament's No. 13 seed, in the round of 32.
Rice is making its third straight NCAA Tournament appearance and its sixth under head coach Genny Volpe.
