United Way goals

The Rice United Way Campaign is 59% of the way to its $250,000 goal, having raised $146,632 in the fundraising effort’s first three weeks.

The School of Natural Sciences continues to lead the university in total funds donated, with $20,758 raised so far. The Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies still leads the way in total participation rate with 88.9% of its department members having contributed, and more Public Affairs employees — 29 — have pitched in to the campaign so far than any other Rice division or academic department.

Rice Board of Trustees Chairman Rob Ladd is still matching all contributions from first-time donors as well as any increased pledges from previous donors, for a limited time. After three weeks, Ladd has now contributed nearly $15,000 in matching funds to the campaign.

Campaign pledges can be made through automatic payroll deduction through imagineOne, which are spread across all of an employee’s 2022 paychecks. Those interested in contributing any amount via cash, check, credit card payment or payroll pledge can get started by filling out the pledge form on the Rice United Way Campaign website, unitedway.rice.edu. The website also includes details on how to designate donations to be steered toward specific United Way agencies and initiatives.
