Rice United Way Campaign hits 85% of $250,000 goal in week six

United Way Campaign 2021 week 6

Six weeks into Rice’s annual United Way fundraising campaign, the effort has raised a total of $213,127, 85% of its $250,000 goal.

A surge of donations from the Department of Facilities, Engineering & Planning put the department in first place for total number of employee donors at 112. Public Affairs still leads the way in employee participation rate with 94.4% having donated, and the School of Natural Sciences has raised more money than any school or department with $22,881 contributed to the campaign.

Campaign pledges can be made through automatic payroll deduction through imagineOne, which are spread across all of an employee’s 2022 paychecks. Those interested in contributing any amount via cash, check, credit card payment or payroll pledge can get started by filling out the pledge form on the Rice United Way Campaign website, unitedway.rice.edu. The website also includes details on how to designate donations to be steered toward specific United Way agencies and initiatives.
