Rice University's Ruth López Turley, a professor of sociology and director of the Houston Education Research Consortium, and Stephen Klineberg, professor emeritus of sociology and founding director of the Kinder Institute for Urban Research, were honored at Children At Risk's 2021 Accolades Luncheon held Oct. 8 at Hotel ZaZa in Houston. López Turley received the Statewide Outstanding Nonprofit Researcher Award and Klineberg received the Champion for Children Award.
