A limited number of fans will be admitted to Rice baseball and soccer games this season after the university's Crisis Management Team approved a set of protocols for outdoor venues, the athletics department announced this week.
For baseball at Reckling Park, tickets will be distributed to season ticket members, donors, players' families and Rice students. Any remaining tickets will be made available for public sale on a game-by-game basis. Seats will be assigned in a physically distanced manner.
For soccer at Holloway Field, all tickets will be general admission and will be distributed to season ticket members, players' families and students. Fans will be required to sit six feet away from the nearest group.
At both venues, fans must wear masks at all times unless actively eating or drinking. There will be a limited concessions menu at baseball games but no alcohol sold. There will be no concessions available at soccer games, but fans are allowed to bring food and drink.
